Admissions Process

Candidates can seek admissions for B.Tech program in the Engineering Colleges of Madhya Pradesh only through counseling in any branch, either after appearing in JEE or without Entrance Test, after passing 12th Board or equivalent with PCM as main subjects.

Methods

Pre-Engineering Test

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted at various centres in Madhya Pradesh as well as in other states. The dates of JEE are declared by CBSE and can be seen on its website – www. cbse.nic.in.

Direct without Entrance Test

The candidates may also seek admission directly without appearing in any of entrance exams on the basis of 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Maths in second and third phase of counselling, which is qualifying examination based counseling and college level counseling (CLC).

Minimum Qualification

12th examination of 10+2 scheme of MP Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with 45% marks for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC, only for MP domicile candidates.

Lateral Entry Diploma holders from Polytechnics

Lateral entry diploma holders from Polytechnics and students who have completed B.Sc. with Maths may seek admission in 2nd Year of BE. Diploma holder from polytechnic will get admission in the branch similar to their diploma. These admission are done through lateral entry scheme with 50% marks in the respective qualifying examination via the counselling procedure only.

Counseling Procedure

The counseling is organized On-line by Director Technical Education (DTE), Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, on dates declared by DTE, after the 12th Board and JEE results are declared in M.P. and other States.The students are required to submit their options on line on scheduled dates. This usually extends from July to August. The counseling is done in various phases

I Phase: Only JEE students on the merit basis.
II Phase: Qualifying examination based counseling on the merit basis.
III Phase: College Level Counseling (CLC) based on 12th board equivalent on merit basis.
