National Service Scheme (NSS)

About the Program:

The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Infinity Management and Engineering College (IMEC), Sagar, is a youth development program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. NSS is a voluntary, value-based initiative that encourages students to participate in community service and nation-building activities. Its motto is:
“NOT ME BUT YOU.”

Vision and Mission:

The NSS Unit at IMEC, Sagar, aims to inspire students to become responsible, compassionate, and progressive citizens by actively engaging them in community service and nation-building initiatives. The program promotes social responsibility, leadership, and humanitarian values while upholding the Institute’s core values of Honesty & Integrity, Empathy, Transparency, Freedom, Respect, and Collaboration.

Objectives:

• To identify, understand, and help solve the needs and problems of the community.
• To develop a sense of civic responsibility and social commitment.
• To cultivate leadership qualities, teamwork, cooperation, and the ability to share responsibilities.
• To develop skills in mobilizing community participation.
• To build the capacity to respond effectively during emergencies and natural disasters.
• To promote national integration, social harmony, and community development.

With the guidance of faculty mentors, advisors, and other experts at IMEC, NSS student volunteers plan, organize, and execute various community service activities, awareness campaigns, and outreach projects. Through these initiatives, they address social issues, encourage responsible citizenship, and contribute meaningfully to the welfare of society in and around Sagar.

About NSS:

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunities for students from technical institutions, colleges, and universities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels to participate in community service activities and social development programs.

The primary objective of NSS is to provide students with practical experience in community service, enabling them to develop leadership, social responsibility, and a spirit of selfless service while transforming them into responsible citizens.
